Spent an amazing day shooting with the incredibly talented Rena Hart, wandering through the historic streets of Rochester and Strood in Kent. The idea was simple: keep it black and white, keep it moody, and see where the day took us. What unfolded was something pretty special.
Armed with my new anamorphic lens, I wanted to experiment with a more cinematic approach — creating frames that felt like they were pulled straight from a film.
We stumbled across a real gem — a submarine sitting quietly in the River Medway, like something out of a Cold War thriller. It instantly became the perfect backdrop for a set of dramatic, almost surreal portraits. The contrast of industrial steel against Rena’s sharp styling and expressive posing created a kind of raw elegance I’m really proud of.
From textured alleyways to riverbanks and gritty urban corners, the shoot was full of spontaneous moments and cinematic potential. Rena was, as always, a dream to work with — bringing emotion, edge, and a touch of old-Hollywood intensity that made every frame feel alive.
Can’t wait to share more from this set — the results definitely feel like a story waiting to be told.
